Swabs for the antigen test for SARS-COV-2 virus (coronavirus), causing COVID-19 disease, are collected at the Drive-thru Collection Point in Łukasiewicz – PORT in Wroclaw (entrance from Pracka St.),

Important:

The drive-thru collection point in Łukasiewicz – PORT operates from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 12:00.

• No appointment is required for the examination – no prior registration is required.
• The test is on the European Common List
• The test is on the European List of Mutual Recognition
• The swab is collected with a flexible, flocked nylon swab stick
• The test result will be available in EWP system on the same day after 12:30 p.m.
• We do not visit the patient – we take the material for tests at our Drive-thru Collection Points.

How should I prepare for the test?

Before arrival, rinse your mouth with boiled water and do not eat at least 2-3 hours before collecting the swab.

Immediately before collecting the swab, please:

• do not brush your teeth,
• do not use mouthwashes,
• do not use chewing gums or refreshing tablets/sweets,
• do not clean your nose (by rinsing or blowing),
• remove movable dentures.

The person from whom the swab will be collected must have:

• identity card – a document necessary for the identification of the data,
• face mask – dressed for at least the time of presence in Łukasiewicz – PORT.
• hand disinfectant – disinfect your hands before swab collection.

How the swab is collected?

After approaching the indicated place, a point employee in a protective suit will ask you for hand disinfection, conduct a short interview necessary to complete the medical documentation, and ask to take off the mask. Then, using a flexible, flocked nylon swab, the employee will take a swab from the nasopharynx gently by pressing against the inside for few seconds.

Contraindications for swab collection:

Relative contraindications include recent craniofacial trauma or anatomical anomalies, and severe haemorrhagic diathesis – they may cause swab stick insertion difficult or increase the risk of local trauma and bleeding. Complications are a consequence of local tissue trauma (bleeding, pain or discomfort). The procedure may provoke coughing and sneezing, and sometimes vomiting (irritation of the back of the throat).

What should I keep in mind?

• When entering the collection point, put a mask on. Take it off only at the request of our employee, immediately before collecting the swab.
• In Łukasiewicz – PORT (entry from Pracka Street) go to the collection point according to the map and signposts.
• If you notice that there is another patient within the collection point, keep a safe distance – a minimum of 2 m.
• After collecting the swab, leave the area as soon as possible. Follow the instructions on the road.
• After leaving the collection point, go straight home. Do not put others at risk of infection. We will provide you with the test result as soon as possible.

The drive-thru Collection Point in Łukasiewicz – PORT is located at the Pracze Campus. Access is possible only from Pracka Street, Wroclaw.

At our drive-thru point, we accept patients who primarily use cars (maximum vehicle height 190 cm). Do not get out of the car at the collection point. During your visit you must follow the information and instructions of the employees of the collection point.

Additional information:

• The Collection Point does not have a waiting room or toilets available for patients.
• It will not take more than 10 minutes to perform the entire procedure.
